pool side

there hasn't been as many days as i thought there might have been, relaxing pool side this summer.. but today was one of those cracker summer days, just us, our pool and fun.
the occasional chat to the next door neighbours over the fence sharing produce from the gardens and books to read and watching the boys play all day. bliss !!

today's the last day of my holidays and we seem to have had the most productive day of the last 6 weeks !!!
we started off this morning with a science experiment... an erupting volcano with bicarb and vinegar.
the boys thought it was great fun and as Archie said "wow that's awesome"

this year i have taken on the role of secretary on the Kindergarten Committee.

over the holidays i have had to collect the mail from the post box. the boys have enjoyed this job and have been talking about letters, Posties and delivering mail.

this morning Hugo asked if we could write some letters. so we spent the morning creating a letter box, writing mail, creating letter boxes for the mail to be delivered in and then i decorated some calico bags for the "posties" to deliver the mail in.

we have had so much fun today, writing letters to each other, drawing pictures and role playing together.

holiday days

inspired by an article from this months Real Living magazine, I created tents for the boys to play in today. they have had a great time playing out in the back yard and i am looking forward to sitting watching more adventures unfold over the coming days.

Hooray...Daddys back from a week long trip to Hong Kong and China.
the boys spent a day reconnecting and swimming in the pool.
it was a perfect summer day, sun, pool, book, family..... perfect.

finally a day with sun

we awoke to summer weather this morning.
the boys and i spent the morning playing Lego, a batch of yogurt and berry muffins, a quick supermarket shop, a trip to Bunnings for a holiday project( that we ran out of time to create today as we ended up spending the afternoon swimming.) and the usual chores, including an extra load of laundry for my lovely neighbour whose washing machine broke and as i handed the washing over the fence she gave me these beautiful sweet smelling gardenias from her garden.
the afternoon was spent rel;axing by the pool, swimming and reading. bliss.
