an award

a Maths computer program in Victorian schools called mathletics is very popular in our house. maths comes easy to Hugo at this stage of his schooling and he has been very keen to log into mathletics most afternoons at home. the incentive of a paper printed certificate has been his driving force, but today he aced it and was awarded this trophy for the week. the second ever student in his school for mathlete of the week, gaining the most 'points' for the week. well done Hugo

memories

after years of procrastinating, today i decided just to DO IT. a photo wall that is. a blank canvas wall in our kitchen has now become a focal point. i have selected photos from the last 7 odd years of our family and friends and displayed them in a collage. everyone helped and we had a great time reminiscing about events, special moments in our lives as a family and how we have all grown. its stared something though... i have got hundreds of printed photos now and want to display more.... off to find the next wall!!

festival

a weekend of :: great weather :: parades :: wildlife exhibitions :: friends :: craft :: food :: markets :: good times :: memories ::community :: music the festival really sums up our little town. it was big, busy and fun and when we finally got home Sunday night about 8pm we were exhausted. it was a weekend of fun, music, entertainment family and friends. our little town rocks !!!!

5th Place

every year there is an annual duck race. all the schools and kindergartens and childcare centres have yellow plastic ducks for sale. $2 a duck and you take it home and decorate it. once decorated it is returned to the kinder, school etc. on the festival Sunday at 2pm, the ducks are all dropped into the river and float down stream..... Archie's duck got a place this year... 5th place very exciting considering there are 100's of ducks !!! well done Arch

the water slide

the highlight of sunday. i think the boys spent 3-4 hours on this....

the first time

This year Arch is able to participate in our towns, annual festival street parade. The whole town stops as the main street is blocked off for all the community groups, organisations, schools and kindergartens to process along the street which is lined with 100's of residents and family members. there was a buzz in the air this morning as Archie is now in 4 year old kinder and able to ride on the kinder truck. A little unsure at first but once he was on the truck with his Friends and teachers he ad a great time.

another year

Grade 2 and all the confidence in the world.......... laughing and chatting with his friends, waving to people he knew, happily part of the parade. the theme of the festival this year is carnivale.... hugo's school created masks to wear in the parade and they did a great job.

there hasn't been as many days as i thought there might have been, relaxing pool side this summer.. but today was one of those cracker summer days, just us, our pool and fun.
the occasional chat to the next door neighbours over the fence sharing produce from the gardens and books to read and watching the boys play all day. bliss !!
