sunday

We packed up this morning and had a wander through Bendigo. On the way home we stopped at a beautiful little town called Kyenton.
it was freezing with an arctic wind blowing but we rugged up and wandered along the old historic Piper Street. it was a real treat to stop in each shop that we desired and look for as long as we liked without little fingers touching things, or husbands waiting (im)patiently outside. we enjoyed a coffee and then headed home.

bliss

hanging out knitting, sewing, talking, relaxing, and enjoying the company of good friends.

weekend

over the weeknd i went to Bendigo with the knitting girls.
on saturday we went out for breakfast and went to the Bendigo woollen mills. it was nice to look and touch the yarn and see the real colours rather than just on the website. i bought some yarn for this project which i started on saturday night while watching the Sex in the City movie.
i also bought some 4ply yarn to continue on with my circle in a square blanket as well as 2 balls of yarn one blue and the other and ghost grey for beanies for the boys.

TWO

this little blog of mine is 2 years old. i cant believe how quickly that time has gone.

I remember sitting at a park with Nic who was explaining the world of blogs and that she had just set one up. i ran home and started to look at all the blogs. i felt inspired and couldn't wait to start, not knowing or dreaming that i would love it quite as much as i do, not ever thinking i would meet real wonderful people, or learning and being constantly inspired.

i am grateful to be on this journey and i look forward to many more years of blogging.

i don't even know how many people read this, but its not about that. it about a record, a journal of my life and some of my family experiences as well as learning and trying new crafts. its a way to express and sort through the hurdles we encounter in day to day life and to remember all the experiences we have.
its been a wonderful journey

mid week entertaining

Friends of ours from Singapore are over. we decided to have them over for dinner. 2 other families came as well to catch up.
8 kids and 7 adults for dinner mid week, i think i must be crazy !!!
it was a busy but fun night catching up on about 2 years of news.
it always amazes me how kids just get on with it, playing like they had only seen each other yesterday.

celebrations

Posted by Picasathe friends that we stayed with are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary. They surprised us at about 6pm with a "walk" on saturday night.
we walked to a secluded open area on their property where they had set up a marquee for dinner with candles and a roaring campfire.
it was a wonderful way to celebrate their anniversary with beautiful food, good wine and good company.

weekend away

arriving at our friends country property on Saturday afternoon we enjoyed the autumnal sunshine on our backs, as we watched the boys ride their bikes, play with the dogs and explore. i Sat at the table shelling pistachios for dinner catching up on 6 months news with an old dear friend who was also there for the weekend.

enjoying the beautiful weather at a local park with Nic and her boys. there is nothing more therapeutic than catching up with friends and enjoying their company. it makes you realise that you are not alone and others too have similar issues, worries, concerns as well as joys and delights in raising our children.
i am blessed to have long term friends like Nic that have shared years and years of good and bad as well as new friends that are just as therapeutic and with the excuse of knitting we manage to catch up weekly.
i am feeling grounded and blessed after knitting last night and a great play today.
thank you girls.

we spent the night with friends on their houseboat last night and today on the way home we dropped into one of their relatives farm near Yea.
it was great....
no noise and oh so peaceful.
it got me thinking.....
land would be great
a sea change? I'm not sure we could do that at this stage, but maybe working towards a few acres in the country for a weekender... oh the dreams i am dreaming......
happy kids spending weekends outside exploring
guest quarters for friends to stay
massive dining table
open fires
food, entertaining and more food.................................
