true magic and belief of all things Christmas had us up at 530 this morning. both boys were bleary eyed and looked like they wanted to be asleep but the wonder and excitement of what Santa had left was too much.
the excitement was catchy, the birds were only just starting to sing but i could have been in no better place. with wide sparkly eyes and exclamations of joy, i could have lived in the moment forever.
it was a morning of giving and receiving.
i want to hold onto moments like this forever the magic and wonder of Christmas mornings like this one when Hugo so strongly and powerfully believes in all the magic of Christmas. i hope there are so many more Christmas mornings filled with this much belief, anticipation and magic.

:: 7pm boys asleep
:: 715pm Santa's elves arrived to help build a trampoline.
::all was on track till we needed to make the cut a little wider : one burst water main pipe
:: a call to one of the elves nephews who is a plumber, he drove over and fixed it.
::resume building trampoline
::930 all done
as i look at these photos i get a tear in my eye. great friends helping us make our boys day special tomorrow. it was no stress for them all to come over and help us, true lifelong friendship is a wonderful gift, and as for Karl and 23 year old nephew of one of the boys that we have watched grow up, dropped everything to come over and fix our water pipe. now that's the spirit of Christmas. Giving.
thank you boys, you are truly special people in our lives.

happy birthday little arch.
i can't believe you are 3 today, you seem to have been here forever, these 3 years have gone so quick.
you are such a happy, dynamic little boy, head strong and strong willed, yet so soft and sensitive at the same time.
i love you
happy birthday little man

after reading Ella's blog i was inspired to create some elves for Hugo's class mates and friends .so in my recent form i had left it to this week to do, so i have been madly making each night. i love their character. i hope the children in Hugo's class enjoy them as much as i did making them.

thinking outside the square....instead of the hundreds of candy canes and chocolate Santa's we have received from Hugo's class mates over the last few weeks, i decided to make magic reindeer food with Hugo to give to his friends.
Magic Reindeer Food
sprinkle on the lawn at night
the moon will make it sparkle bright
when Santa's reindeer's fly and roam
this will guide them to your home

as the school year draws to a close, i decided to organise a class picnic.
it was a lovely Melbourne evening. everyone bought their own picnic/BBQ dinner to our local park. we meet from 5pm. once the children had got over the "out of context weirdness with each other" they played and played for hours :: soccer, totem tennis, football, and an unprompted re enactment of the carols last week.
it was nice to sit and talk to other parents and Hugo's teacher. as the evening was drawing to a close for us preppy mums and dads the local scouts came down for their end of year BBQ, with a tug -o-war rope with them, the connectedness of this community we live in was evident when a Prep A v scouts tug-o-war broke out. a nice way to end the night
