farewell

a family from school are moving to Healesville, we were going to go out locally to say goodbye, but i offered our home.
5 families came, and it was great, an informal BBQ. some of the families i know really well, others i am friendly with but havent shared a meal with them before.it was great, lots of fun and really lovely families. there were a few tears and lots of laughs. Healesville is not too far away. we look forward to seeing you soon Jess and Aidan

art exhibition

hugo's art work in the school art exhibition.
the opening was tonight and Hugo was very excited and proud of his work.
Arch spent time painting while we were looking at the exhibition.

baby quilt

my dear friend, Rachael who i work with is expecting her first baby. today i am finishing off a quilt for her.
in tones of grey.
the children each drew a picture of themselves and i have then embroidered it onto white and linen squares.
i hope she loves it.

in need of water

a friend of ours who is a plumber came over today to install our new kitchen sink and tap. the water was turned off for hours, but the boys wanted hot dogs for lunch.
hugo decided to go and collect the rain from the overflowing gutter !!!

after nearly 4 years of a half done kitchen, it was finished this weekend. i am so excited. you have no idea!!!!!

book week

a book parade at school tomorrow, prompted us to create this Zac Power t shirt, using a freezer paper stencil

finding gnomes

this christmas season 10 of the local buisnesses have put gold gnomes in their shop windows. there is an inititative by the town to encourge residents to shop locally.over the coming month there is a competition to find all the gnomes and then enter to win christmas hampers. the boys and i spent the afternoon riding around the town on the hunt for the gnomes. we had a great day exploring and hunting for the gnomes. we have found 8....

christmas pudding

as a child i remember going to my Grandma's house to help her make the Christmas pudding. the best part was stirring the pudding and having a wish.
over the years my cousin has taken on the role of making the pudding when my Grandma passed away, however this year he is now living in Singapore so i offered to make it. i am really happy that my boys and i can know make the pudding with mum and they can have this tradition with their Grandma.

milo cricket

hugo is loving cricket.
friday evenings.
we wander down to the oval, with fish and chips then while Hugo plays we spend the time catching up with friends with a glass of wine or two watching the boys play.

final goodbye

today i did a final clean inside and out before John's mum house settles.
a last bunch of flowers from her beautiful garden.
i have struck many plants, hoping that i will be able to continue her love of the garden in my home.

sleepover

as part of the camping program at Hugo' s school, the grade 2 children have a sleepover on a Friday night in the school hall.
a very excited Hugo happily packed his bag last night and was counting down the minutes after school to get back.
once we had arrived and i helped him set up his bed, he was off.
