annual christmas party

well this year it was back, our annual christmas party.
i had painters in all week, spent 8 hours on friday night cleaning up after them, i have shopped and cooked up a storm all week, spent the weekend putting on the final touches and today was the day
2pm onwards

i think the last guests left at 3am !!!!

waiting for santa

the sirens were ringing, and the corny Christmas music was blaring...
Santa on the fire truck was on his way.

annual carols

this year it was Hugo that wanted to go to our local carols, i needed to potter round at home organising tomorrow, but he was adament that he wanted to go... and you know what? i'm so glad he did. it was lovely sitting under the gum trees watching our kids sing, catching up with friends and aquaintences.
now it feels a lot more like christmas.

ramp it

a birthday party for a Friends at Ramp it, a great indoor skateboarding, bmx and scooter park.
morning sessions are for kids under 10? and its only scooters and skateboards.
the boys had sooo much fun

farewell

a family from school are moving to Healesville, we were going to go out locally to say goodbye, but i offered our home.
5 families came, and it was great, an informal BBQ. some of the families i know really well, others i am friendly with but havent shared a meal with them before.it was great, lots of fun and really lovely families. there were a few tears and lots of laughs. Healesville is not too far away. we look forward to seeing you soon Jess and Aidan

art exhibition

hugo's art work in the school art exhibition.
the opening was tonight and Hugo was very excited and proud of his work.
Arch spent time painting while we were looking at the exhibition.

baby quilt

my dear friend, Rachael who i work with is expecting her first baby. today i am finishing off a quilt for her.
in tones of grey.
the children each drew a picture of themselves and i have then embroidered it onto white and linen squares.
i hope she loves it.

in need of water

a friend of ours who is a plumber came over today to install our new kitchen sink and tap. the water was turned off for hours, but the boys wanted hot dogs for lunch.
hugo decided to go and collect the rain from the overflowing gutter !!!

after nearly 4 years of a half done kitchen, it was finished this weekend. i am so excited. you have no idea!!!!!

book week

a book parade at school tomorrow, prompted us to create this Zac Power t shirt, using a freezer paper stencil

finding gnomes

this christmas season 10 of the local buisnesses have put gold gnomes in their shop windows. there is an inititative by the town to encourge residents to shop locally.over the coming month there is a competition to find all the gnomes and then enter to win christmas hampers. the boys and i spent the afternoon riding around the town on the hunt for the gnomes. we had a great day exploring and hunting for the gnomes. we have found 8....
