writing

over the last few months Hugo has taken a big interest in letters and writing. after showing him once how to write his name, he has never looked back, writing his name all the time and now adding mum and dad to his repertoire as well as individual letters.

mothers group trip to baw baw

this weekend we went away to Mt Baw Baw again. no snow but still lots of fun to be had. every year my mothers group go away together a couple of times a year. all the families go, the kids, mums and dads and it is truly amazing we ALL get along so well its great. it is like one big extended family. its so easy going away with like minded families. there is little fighting and what small squabbles there are the children normally can sort themselves out.

sat morning we went on a bush walk exploring the plants and rocks of Baw Baw with out snow.

its funny we were all sitting round on sat afternoon and then as if by clock work all the mums were in the kitchen together collaborating dinner for the kids. j was watching and said it was like we all had a 6th sense and knew to all come together a the same time !!!

today i have lost my groove.
its a struggle.
but then i look at my 2 little buttons and i am able to smile again.

sewing

over the last few weeks i have been cleaning out my mother in laws house. we found a collection of buttons, as well as what seems like hundreds, of hankies. something that is not commonly used any more. when we got home Hugo asked if he could do some sewing. by the time i had come back to the table with my sewing box he had pucked out a hankie and announced that he would like to sew some buttons on.
he was very proud of his hard work.

eastlink

today the new east link freeway was open to pedestrians. it is amazing to see a brand new stretch of road that has taken years to build, finally be finished. it was great we had a walk on it and look at all the hard work that has taken place.

Garage Sale

over the last few weeks we have been busy cleaning out my mother in laws house. i have had a lovely time exploring cupboards and draws and finding hidden and lost treasures from years ago. the boys have loved this. its been like one big treasure hunt for the. i think the most favourite part for them has been playing in a large, flat, established garden full of hiddy holes, nooks and crannies and beautiful smells and textures to explore. we had a garage sale last weekend so see if we could move any of the stuff on. it didn't go so well, but the boys spent all day playing in this cardboard box !!!

new Pyjamas

i had planned on sitting down and making the boys new pyjamas, but somewhere time ran away from me....

i have material and patterns sitting waiting to go, so hopefully in the next few weeks I'll make them both a new pair.

op shops

can i tell you how frustrating i find op shops. i had a few hours to kill this afternoon when button 1 was at kinder. so i thought i would go to a few op shops and look at ,material, fabric ANYTHING. all i find is crap !!!!
ALL my friends rave about their finds, i think i need help in the op shop department !!!
so yet again there are no photos as there was nothing to photograph.
my camera and i are out in action tomorrow.
i really need to add some photos on this blog !

We spent the weekend at Mt Baw Baw. it was the opening of ski season, although there was no snow there was lots of fun to be had by all.

this afternoon i looked after a friends 2 children while she went to PMP with her eldest boy who is prep. we had lots of fun and made a big batch of play dough. the kids had great fun.
