for me......
my dear friends Benjamin and Fiona invited us for dinner.the condition was i cooked with Ben for my birthday like last year.
we invited 2 other couples who over the last 18 months or so after meeting through our children at the same school have become firm friends.
nights like these are what life is all about.
great friends standing together in a kitchen, talking. cooking, laughing and sharing life.
then sitting down together to a wonderful meal.
thanks you Fi and Benny for making today one that i will hold in my heart forever.
sunday
another relaxing day. today we went to the Templestowe farmers market, and bought some plants and chestnuts, we then stopped at our local Strawberry farm and bought fresh berries as well as some delicious strawberry ice cream. after nearly 9 years in the area i have never dropped in here. it was well worth it with beautiful berries and quite reasonably priced. we then headed off to Kmart and bought soccer balls and some nets which kept the boys entertained all afternoon.

running
today was a beautiful today. the weather was perfect.
i had to drop John into the football so the boys and i went for a run around the Tan. i ran the boys scooted.
we had a lovely afternoon. we made it round and then stopped at the Observatory Cafe for a late lunch/afternoon tea and then wandered through the botanical gardens for awhile, stopping to buy a few plants at the plant sale before going home.
days like this are what life is all about.

catching dinner
this afternoon we went down the hill to the local trout farm and caught dinner.
it was pretty easy fishing, put the rod in and pull the fish out in a matter of seconds. arch managed to catch the largest, oldest trout in the pond.. 4 years old and huge !!
i think the highlight was watching the man gut and fillet the fish and examining the gut bucket !!!
