enjoying the beautiful weather at a local park with Nic and her boys. there is nothing more therapeutic than catching up with friends and enjoying their company. it makes you realise that you are not alone and others too have similar issues, worries, concerns as well as joys and delights in raising our children.
i am blessed to have long term friends like Nic that have shared years and years of good and bad as well as new friends that are just as therapeutic and with the excuse of knitting we manage to catch up weekly.
i am feeling grounded and blessed after knitting last night and a great play today.
thank you girls.

we spent the night with friends on their houseboat last night and today on the way home we dropped into one of their relatives farm near Yea.
it was great....
no noise and oh so peaceful.
it got me thinking.....
land would be great
a sea change? I'm not sure we could do that at this stage, but maybe working towards a few acres in the country for a weekender... oh the dreams i am dreaming......
happy kids spending weekends outside exploring
guest quarters for friends to stay
massive dining table
open fires
food, entertaining and more food.................................

Mothers Day

what a lovely day I had with my boys.
i loved the joy on my boys faces as they gave to me. the look of special knowledge when you are excited about a present that you are giving and you know the recipient has no idea what they are getting.
we started the day early with the excitement of the Tooth Fairy having been.
and then Hugo said "Mum can I give you our presents now. Can we give you the one that starts with A"
(yesterday John took the boys shopping. they purchased me some new runners that i knew about but then John gave the boys free rein in a home ware shop. Hugo was VERY excited that he had bought me a gift.)
Hugo had made a beautiful painting of me on a canvas, at school as well as a wonderful card. Archie had made a special hand ornament for my mobile phone or jewellery as well as a lovely card at kinder
(last week on Wednesday Hugo went to Grandma's with Archie when i went to work as he wasn't feeling 100% it was a good thing he did as mum made beautiful cards with them for me, as well as buying me a wonderful picture story book which Hugo wrote in.) This gift was beautiful and very special. Thoughtful and given with so much love.
the presents that John and the boys had bought were a new pair of Nike runners that have an apple i phone sensor in them so I can track all my running stats as well as the present that Hugo was so excited about....an apple slinky maker.
I was very spoilt and the boys and I shared a special moment together as we opened these presents. there was a lovely connection between us as their love and excitement of sharing presents and cards with me.
I am truly blessed to have such wonderful children (even if they ruin the pear galette that I had made on the way down to the beach by poking their fingers in it !!!)

handmade presents

handmade presents made with love.
i love the fact that school and kinders create something with our children.
my day started very early and my boys spoilt me with gifts of love. it was a magical moment sitting in bed with my 2 special boys as they gave me their presents that they had made with care, love and pride.

gifts for Grandma

the boys drew on two napkins/serviettes each for Grandma.
Archie drew popeye (yellow) and mumma (purple) and Hugo did both himself and arch as well as Grandma.
i stitched over their drawings with the colours they chose.

the big moment happened tonight after Harvey's party. as the boys and i sat down to a simple dinner of soup and toast ( john was out at the footy and we had HEAPS to eat at the party) Hugo announced that his wobbly tooth felt funny. On close inspection it was hanging by a corner, so with my own memories of losing a tooth in the middle of the night i gave it a good (firm) wiggle and hey presto out it came !!!!
there was great discussion on what happens now.
Hugo had heard that the tooth fairy comes to collect it and then it goes to tooth world. in tooth world all the teeth are used for many different things such as money, statues, castles, buildings, cars and bridges. he decided that he didn't want to write the tooth fairy a letter tonight as she knows what to do when its time to collect the teeth for tooth world but he would wait until the next day so he could write a thank you note to her. in this letter he is going to ask her all about tooth world. what his tooth has been used for? what the fairies do? and what tooth world is like? he also wants to leave a tiny cup of strawberry milk for her. (goodness i have got some researching to do about the world of fairies and tooth fairies !!!).
anyway after declaring that he couldn't possibly eat he quickly got ready for bed.
the boys have sleep overs every weekend in each others room. tonight it was Archie's bed.
he quickly found his tooth box and put it by the bed ad feel fast asleep dreaming of fairies.
she delivered a note, poem $2 and a special wishing stonePosted by Picasa
