Christmas is such a special time of the year and as the years go on i feel that some of the magic is going and more commercialism is creeping in. we are not a really religious family. both my boys are christened, and i used to always go to church at Christmas.
i have a beautiful Nativity scene from here. Hugo also has a wooden advent calender that he opens a box each day and creates the scene of the Christmas story. this morning we sat down and created our own nativity scene using wooden figurines and scrap material. i think its important that my children know the story of Christmas as well as the wonder and magic of Santa.

I agree - it is getting harder to marry the idea of 'santa' and the reason for nativity - as this seems to be getting less and less important. Where did you get the wooden advent calander? I love what you did with dressing the wooden dolls - they looked great
