In the Present moment

30 days of slowing down, taking the time to be open to the wonder of the present moment.

after rereading Buddhism for mothers with lingering questions by Sarah Napthali i had highlighted this paragraph on living in the moment. i feel that this is important for me now

:: to slow down, to take stock of what really matters

::to enjoy what i have, and to focus on all that is good.

exert taken from the above mentioned book says it better than i can......

to live in the present is to see our children for who they are in this moment, to notice our surroundings, and to listen attentively to others.

the Buddha referred to the practice of living in the moment as a 'better way to live'. in his words::

Do not pursue the past.

Do not lose yourself in the future.

The past no longer is.

The future has not yet come.

Looking deeply at life as it is

In the very here and now,

The practitioner dwells

In stability and freedom.

We must be diligent today.

To wait until tomorrow is too late.

Death comes unexpectedly.

Buddha

So, so true. What a lovely thing to focus on for a month. May it reap you many unexpected rewards. J x

How beautiful. I hope it can last longer than a month Nay. It is sometimes so hard to find that time to breathe so I really hope this helps Nic
